FibreSeeker 3 UL Certification vs EU Safety Marks

FibreSeeker 3 UL and NRTL certifications are not yet complete. The same machine already carries a European CE Declaration of Conformity plus RoHS, REACH SVHC, and WEEE laboratory reports. Those files document EU machinery, electromagnetic, chemical, and recycling rules. What's Happening

US shops, schools, and labs keep asking whether this desktop continuous-fiber machine is UL listed. As of August 2026, that US listing is not finished. What the model already has is a full European conformity packet: machinery, electromagnetic compatibility, restricted substances, chemical screening, and recycling.

The manufacturer's CE Declaration of Conformity is the EU statement that the FibreSeeker 3 meets the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and the EMC Directive 2014/30/EU — mechanical hazards and electromagnetic disturbance. What the Research Says

A listing mark describes the machine as shipped. Print-time air quality is a separate, useful habit for any desktop FFF or CFC cell. Azimi, Zhao, Pouzet, Crain, and Stephens measured ultrafine particles and volatile organic compounds from five desktop filament printers and nine filaments in a chamber. Median time-varying UFP emission rates spanned about 108 to 1011 particles per minute, driven mainly by filament, with styrene from ABS and HIPS and caprolactam from nylon among the larger VOC rates. Their office screening favored ventilation and, where needed, combined gas and particle filtration (Azimi et al., 2016).

Gu, Wensing, Uhde, and Salthammer later characterized particles and gases from a desktop printer in a standardized environmental chamber across eight filaments. Particle specific emission rates from 5.6 to 560 nm ran from 2.0 × 109 per minute (a PETG-based "GLASS" filament) to 1.7 × 1011 per minute (ASA), with TVOC from 0.2 to 40.5 μg/min. Collected particles were largely semi-volatile organics tied to additives (Gu et al., 2019). RoHS, REACH, and an SDS tell you what is in the hardware and the fiber spool. Good room air is still worth doing, the same way it is on any other desktop printer.
