About this material
This spool feeds the FibreSeeker 3 CFC nozzle so you can lay continuous carbon fiber into thermoplastic parts. Unlike chopped-fiber filament, the reinforcement is a full-length strand along the load path. It is a FibreSeeker 3 consumable for CFC co-extrusion.

Technical data — X-CCF 1K
As the core reinforcing material for continuous fiber printing, X-CCF 1K uses finer individual carbon fiber tows. That supports steadier filament feeding and consistent resin impregnation, which helps reduce nozzle clogging and improve print success rate.
X-CCF for the FibreSeeker 3
X-CCF 1K is the continuous carbon fiber the FibreSeeker 3 lays with Composite Fiber Co-extrusion (CFC). Use it with PLA, PETG, nylon, or CFC-optimized matrix plastics — regular or CFC packs both work.

- Standard coupons use a small amount of CFC co-extrusion matrix. Values are typical manufacturer TDS combinations — not 100% fiber and not Fibricate lab results.
- The FibreSeeker 3 Hyper Strength mode ceiling is up to 900 MPa tensile — that is a printer-mode claim, not a second coupon result from this table. Coupon tensile for X-CCF/CFC PLA is 883 ± 156.3 MPa (ASTM D3039).
Where to use it
Where to use X-CCF with each CFC matrix
| Filament combination | Characteristics | Scenarios |
|---|---|---|
| X-CCF/CFC PLA | High rigidity, excellent dimensional stability, easy printing, low cost | UAV frames, low-load robotic parts, racing chassis, educational demo prototypes |
| X-CCF/CFC PETG | High tensile strength, low moisture absorption, stable dimensions, wide versatility | Load-bearing UAV arms, robotic arm parts, sports equipment, device frame housings, functional jigs or fixtures, lightweight metal substitutes |
| X-CCF/CFC PA | Superior strength, toughness, fatigue resistance, wear and impact resistance, long service life | Robotic joints, transmission brackets, automotive functional parts, industrial fixtures, gear and pulley substrates, cyclic load-bearing components |
How X-CCF compares
On manufacturer TDS coupons, X-CCF/CFC PLA reaches about 883 MPa tensile strength versus roughly 290 MPa for 6061 aluminum, and about 495 MPa flexural strength versus about 460 MPa for 6061-T6. Continuous carbon fiber composites can reach or exceed metal-level flexural performance at much lower mass. Conventional FDM plastics and short-fiber materials typically sit far below these continuous-fiber figures. Geometry, fiber path, and matrix choice still control real parts.
How these numbers were tested
ASTM D3039 (tensile), ASTM D6641 (compressive), and ASTM D790 (flexural / 3-point bending). Tensile coupon: 250 × 15 × 1 mm. Compression coupon: 140 × 13 × 4 mm. Flexural coupon: 127 × 12.7 × 3.2 mm. Equipment: UTM5504X-F universal testing machine, 50 kN load sensor. Loading rates: tensile 2 mm/min, compressive 1.3 mm/min, flexural 1.37 mm/min.
FAQ
- What is X-CCF?
- X-CCF (X-CCF 1K) is continuous carbon fiber reinforcement for Composite Fiber Co-extrusion (CFC). It is a thermoset-prepreg tow that the FibreSeeker 3 co-extrudes with PLA, PETG, nylon, or CFC-optimized matrix plastics.
- Is X-CCF for the FibreSeeker 3?
- Yes. X-CCF is the continuous carbon fiber the FibreSeeker 3 prints through its CFC nozzle. Fibricate sells this spool as a FibreSeeker 3 consumable.
- What type of material does the FibreSeeker 3 print?
- The FibreSeeker 3 prints continuous carbon fiber (X-CCF) through its CFC nozzle, plus FFF plastics such as PLA, PETG, PC, PA, PACF, and PETGF. It also supports continuous glass fiber (X-CGF) as a separate reinforcement spool.
